Josh Woodward dropped that bomb informally, as if it wasn’t a big deal, when in fact, it is: Storybook now lives inside the Gemini app.

In plain English? Give it a prompt, and it spits out a 10-page, custom-illustrated children’s book with narration.

So, yeah, bedtime just got a little extra thrill.

You’re not supposed to be an author, a digital artist, or even a functional adult.

You just have to punch in something like “a penguin and a robot build a rocket to Saturn” and bam: digital story complete with visuals, voices, and a format resembling one from a legit bookstore (minus the markup).

What can you do with this magic? Pretty much anything as long as it is somewhat kid-related.

Make a book for your niece about dinosaurs baking cookies. Teach your kid empathy with a story about turtles helping each other out. Or celebrate your weekend hike by sending a picture over and letting Gemini create an illustrated memory with talking trees and poetic weather. No judgement.

You can tweak voices, pitch, and even the illustration style.

Want a watercolor vibe with a calm narrator? Easy.

Want it to be bold cartoon-style with a high-energy voiceover? Done.

And that is not all; Gemini Storybook supports 45+ languages, putting it in a lovely spot for bilingual families and multicultural storytelling.

Sometimes the illustrations do get weird, though, like a panda holding a lightsaber with its feet-weird.

But hey, that’s half the fun.

These AI hallucinations can become memorable plot twists, depending on how much your kid insists on sharing them with the whole school.

Once that is done, you can read it to somebody, share it with somebody, or just let the story play while you slither out of the room like a ninja.

One thing that’s been left behind in the old school is printing out stories. Instead, you can keep them digital and replay them anytime for bedtime.

If you’ve got imagination (or honestly, even if you don’t), Gemini’s Storybook does the heavy lifting for you.

It’s the AI bedtime buddy you didn’t know you needed, until trying to tell a story without yawning halfway.
