YouTube has burst the cloud of misunderstanding about its monetization policies, so creators and channels using AI can breathe a sigh of relief.
YouTube had rolled out its new monetization policies, leaving many creators in a dilemma.
YouTube rolled out new policies in July 2025 for its YouTube Partner Program, sparking concern among creators of all types.
Account holders from each genre, such as reaction videos, AI-content-oriented channels, and more, were the most concerned. This is because YouTube made it clear that only original videos will be given priority and the chance to monetize content.
This new update has left creators dumbstruck and confused about whether their content is eligible for monetization or not, and what the new approach to content creation is.
However, this dilemma and confusion were cleared with YouTube’s recent announcement and a not-so-clear clarification post on X, which mentioned the actual meaning of its policies, giving a ray of hope to all creators alike.
YouTube stated that it aims to recognize and appreciate original content, along with some prerequisites to be followed, such as the channel must have 1,000 subscribers, 4,000 watch hours, or 10 million short views.
Moreover, YouTube clarified that reaction videos and AI-generated videos are also recognized as original content eligible for monetization. The new policy will take effect on July 15, 2025.
Here, the main catch is that YouTube wants to give credit to the original content creation and reduce the promotion of repetitive and mass-produced content.
So, if you create videos using AI or react to others, ensure that everything is original and authentic for YouTube to recognize your channel and provide you with the monetary appreciation you deserve.
That’s all for now, happy creating!
